NATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
Leadership Washington Focus (LWF) (Dates: TBA cost TBA)
Held at the National 4-H Center- Chevy Chase, MD. This is a leadership program for youth entering grades 7 through 9. The program will take place to the National 4-H Youth Conference Center, just 1 mile from the Washington, DC border. Middle school 4-H delegates will :
- Build confidence in their ability to motivate and direct others in meaningful action
- Practice effective communication with others through group discussion and public speaking
- Work with others to create and accomplish goals
- Develop an understanding of their own personal leadership
- Exchange ideas, practice respect, and form friendships with others 4-Hers from across the nation
- Experience hands-on learning using the historical backdrop of Washington DC
- Participants will enjoy motivational speakers & educational workshops that increase individual leadership capability and build lifetime skills for success
- Participate in activities that encourage and form new lasting friendships with other 4-H youth
Citizenship Washington Focus (CWF) (Dates: TBA cost TBA)
Held at the National 4-H Center . A leadership program for high school youth, ages 14-19 from across the country. Citizenship Washington Focus gives 4-H youth the opportunity to explore, develop and refine civic engagement skills they need to be outstanding leaders in their home communities and at the national level. Through sightseeing tours in the living classroom of Washington DC and hands on educational workshops, youth will learn about the history of our nation, the leaders who have shaped it and how they can apply the leadership and citizenship skills they have learned at CWF when they return home.
STATE OPPORTUNITIES
Ohio 4-H Conference
The Ohio 4-H Conference is a day long conference held annually on the second Saturday of March at the Columbus Convention center. The conference designed to bring together 4-H volunteers and teens (age 13 and older) from across the State of Ohio. The objective of this event is to learn together and from each other in order to improve our activities to deliver the Ohio 4-H program to its members. A wide range of education selections offer something for everyone and have the ability to satisfy every taste and need.

MXC Making Extreme Counselor Workshop
Open to youth aged 14-18 who plan to serve as camp counselors. MXC is an interactive, quick paced training that offers innovative camp ideas to new and veteran camp counselors. MXC participants learn new skills that enable them to assist in their county’s camp program planning and delivery and prepare them to deliver a great camp program to their campers.
State 4-H Leadership Camp
This is a premiere leadership development opportunity available to Ohio 4-H members. The focus of the five day leadership experience is the development of concrete peer leadership skills that will enable participants to have an immediate impact in their home 4-H club, county, community or school.
Ohio 4-H Forestry & Wildlife Camp
Youth ages 12 through18 will have the opportunity to stay at Canters Cave. They will get to experience activities and classes teaching them about our local forest and wildlife.
Ohio Military Kids (OMK) Camp
Camp is held at the Kelley’s Island. Programs are designed for military youth to help them find positive ways to cope with the stress of their family member’s deployment. Deliver recreational, social and educational programs for military youth living in a civilian communities geographically dispersed throughout the state.
Camp Whitewood
Camp Whitewood is a week long summer camp open to all youth in Columbiana County. The camp is built on the idea of bringing educational development of positive and productive life skills through group interaction in a unique natural environment.
Ohio 4-H Health Summit
