  1. Chickquest In the Classroom

    United Local 2nd grade elementary school students began their journey with the OSU Extension 4-H School enrichment program Chickquest. 72 eggs were delivered to 4 classrooms were the students will be challenged to use Science, Engineering and Technology to investigate the life cycle of an embryonic chicken egg.  In 21 days, there should be many new chicks!     4-H Families, 4-H Advisors, not really sure to keep on track for the year! Do not worry, Audrey Dimmerling, 4-H Educator will be giving 4-H Hot Topics throughout the 4-H year to help you keep on track for the year.

    This years first 4-H Hot Topic is all about Club Management for 4-H Advisors. Its a new 4-H year and what will help you better manage your 4-H Club.

    PLAN EARLY

    Meet with all of your advisors early. Together decide what will be each of the volunteers roles and plan the clubs 4-H calendar for the year. 

  6. 4-H Parent Meeting

    A 4-H Parent Meeting has been scheduled for November 13, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at the OSU Extension office. Come out to meet the 4-H Educator and get to know the OSU Extension staff. 4-H in Columbiana County has many new and exciting things happening. This also gives you as the parent an opportunity to ask your questions directly to the 4-H Educator. 4-H is to be a fun activity for youth and families to participate in over the years. We are striving to make this happen for the families in Columbiana County. We hope to see you there.

    4-H Volunteer Banquet

    The 4-H Volunteer Banquet will be be held October 10th ath The Links at Firestone Farms,105 St Andrews Dr Columbiana, OH 44408. RSVP by September 23rd if you are attending to the OSU Extension office. The cost for volunteers is $5.00 and guest are $10.00. This is an evening to take a moment to reflect on the accomplishments of the 4-H year and to recognize those that made a difference in the program.  We look forward to seeing you there.

  9. Columbiana County Jr Fair Wrap Up

    The Columbiana County Junior Fair has come to an end.  You can see some of the highlights in the e-newsletter for the Fair Wrap Up.  We would like to Thank everyone for a successful year.  Consumer National Bank donated t-shirts to all of the 4-H youth in Columbiana County. Baer Auction and Realty gave 5 gallon buckets for Junior Fair participants. Frito Lay donated potato chips and pretzels that were distributed throughout the week of fair.
