4-H HOT TOPIC

4-H Families, 4-H Advisors, not really sure to keep on track for the year! Do not worry, Audrey Dimmerling, 4-H Educator will be giving 4-H Hot Topics throughout the 4-H year to help you keep on track for the year.

This years first 4-H Hot Topic is all about Club Management for 4-H Advisors. Its a new 4-H year and what will help you better manage your 4-H Club.

PLAN EARLY

Meet with all of your advisors early. Together decide what will be each of the volunteers roles and plan the clubs 4-H calendar for the year.

ATTEND THE 4-H ADVISOR KICK-OFF NOVEMBER 6th at the OSU EXTENSION OFFICE

This is your chance as the 4-H advisor to get the most updated information. There will be program updates, important information and resources that will be shared with you.  This is valuable for you to have this information to help make the 4-H year successful for the youth in your 4-H Clubs. At the Kick off it will also give you an opportunity to ask questions that you may have.  There will be an opportuntity for you to talk to other 4-H Advisors in the county.

HOLD A PARENT MEETING

Talk to parents about their role and expectation for their 4-H members and familiy. This is a great time to chare the clubs 4-H calendar and upcoming events. Families can plan ahead if they know what is coming up. Parent meetings are a great time to give parents the opportunity to ask you questions and for you to get to know them a little better. This would also be a great time to collect dues and book money.

ENCOURAGE RETURNING FAMILIES TO REENROLL IN 4-H ONLINE
