  1. Columbiana County 4-H PAS Show Set for June 6

    Columbiana County 4-H horse project members are invited to participate in the upcoming 4-H PAS (Performance Against a Standard) Show on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the Columbiana County Fairgrounds Horse Arena. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m., with the show starting at 9:00 a.m.

    PAS shows provide youth with an opportunity to demonstrate their horsemanship skills while competing against established performance standards. Participation in PAS can also serve as a qualifying opportunity for the Ohio State Fair Junior Horse Show.

    As gardens begin to grow and canning season approaches, now is the perfect time to make sure your pressure canner is ready for safe food preservation. Ohio State University Extension is offering Pressure Gauge Testing services throughout the year to support both new and experienced home canners in the community.

    Pressure gauge testing is an important part of safe home canning. An accurate gauge helps ensure foods are processed at the proper pressure, reducing the risk of foodborne illness and helping families preserve food safely and confidently.

  8. Columbiana County 4-H Prepares for 2025 Project Showcase Judging and Awards

    Lisbon, OH — The Columbiana County 4-H community is preparing for its annual Project Showcase Judging, taking place on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at the Commercial Building on the Columbiana County Fairgrounds. This event provides youth participants the opportunity to present their 4-H project work and receive recognition for their efforts. Judging will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and no pre-registration is required—participants may arrive at any time during that window.

  9. OSU Extension Offering Forage Testing

    With the wet weather thus far in 2025, OSU Extension is offering reduced cost hay analysis. Mature, late made hay is lower in energy, protein, and digestibility - often requiring additional supplementation. This reduced cost testing is provided by the OSU Extension eBarns program and Small Ruminant Research lab.

    Cost: $15 for first sample. $20 for each additional sample

  10. Grain C.A.R.T. Rescue Training Coming to Columbiana County
